The Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market, presented by Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, has become one of the largest open-air markets in the Midwest. Starting on Saturday, May 25th (and two Saturdays each month in June, July and August, plus one in September), downtown Cedar Rapids is flooded with nearly 14,000 patrons per market.
Produced annually by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, the event features nearly 200 local Iowa vendors offering an array of products from fresh produce and flowers to meats and artisan gifts.
What’s new at the Market in 2019?
Based on feedback from their members, patrons and vendors, the final Downtown Farmers’ Market date will happen later than in years past! A later September date means more fall-themed goods and fall crafts!
Customers and Vendors have long wanted to buy and sell all the fall goodness from apples, cider, gourds, pumpkins and other fall produce was sought-after, so we’ve adjusted the last date to better accommodate the growing season.
What types of products are sold at the Market?
All products sold at the Downtown Farmers’ Market must be grown, produced, fashioned or transformed in Iowa.
Who can sell at the Market?
Vendors are only permitted to sell items they have produced or crafted themselves.
The Downtown Farmers’ Market does NOT accept vendor applications from businesses that are franchises, nor do they accept applications from Corporations/Businesses such as banks, realtors, insurance, cell phone, or other service provider businesses. Non-profit organizations are offered the opportunity to participate in the Downtown Farmers’ Market at no charge, as space allows and at the discretion of Market Staff. Organizations interested in being considered for space must complete the application.
How do I become a vendor at the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market?
Businesses that wish to participate as a market vendor must meet all market guidelines found in the Vendor Handbook. To apply, vendors must complete a vendor application on ManageMyMarket.com. All applicable policies, procedures and fees will apply.
